1. What were the future prospect of the children attending the village school likely to be?


The expectations of children attending the school was working in a factory or a field, but did not aspire to anything more.


2. How did the writer´s sister prepare their little brother for his first day at school?


Mainly the writer's sister helped to dress, talk about the school itself and cook his food for the special day.


3. Who was the "gracious lady" and in what way was she the write´s saviour?


The "gracious lady" spoken of the book, is the 16 years Junior teacher, she raightful Taking IT to a place, Because of winter.


4. Explain the misunderstanding which led the winter to be in a "smouldering temper" when he got home?


The misunderstanding that oil produced was that the writer thought that people would give the school a gift, but actually the real treat was to go to school.


5. How did his impressions of school change after a week? How did his behaviour change accordingly?


After a while, the first impression of the school, could change their behavior, improving friendship with the other students, and all the school.
